We of the Dairsmuid Circle wait now, behind barricades. I have sent word to our brother and sister mages of this outrage. When they break through, we will not die alone.

His thumb, oddly calloused despite a life seemingly lacking of hard work, rubs slightly against her hand.
"It does. Even beyond seeing the waves -- the sounds, the smell." The reminder that the sea is far more than it appears, a world of its own, untameable. "I can- try. If that is the case, perhaps I will frighten them less than I unnerve others. Of course, I still have this shard in my hand." But so does Araceli, and they like her just fine.

"Korrin's Tama thinks I'll grow scales," she confides as if it's some great and terrible secret. "She had to come fish me out when it was time to eat before this, said she would come with a net and fish hooks." Not that Araceli would mind, she would look quite dashing with silver or blue splashes of colour to dazzle; better than one glowing green hand that makes thievery difficult unless she takes extra care.
"They prodded mine, asked the whole story but I have been hurt and wanted distractions, and my hurts wouldn't hold a candle to their suffering." Then again, Araceli is so used to watching, and listening, and picking up on things around her that she doesn't realise what she's reacting to until it's over sometimes, because she's been taught that well by those that love her. It makes teaching others hard. "All the Fade stuff makes my head spin, so it gave them something else to talk about when they had a conversation as if I wasn't even there, everyone poking my hand and trying to make me remember all the things I've done with it. They'll make all the usual green hand jokes too, about what you've been up to with it." Because it's Rivain, of course.
