WHO: Cyril and Sam
WHAT: Cy doesn't know about Sam's dog form. He thinks he's talking to a stray about something he hasn't shared with anyone.
WHEN: Um, sometime? That fits in? With everything going on... /whistles.
WHERE: Just outside of Skyhold
NOTES: Cy is dumb. Also this gets to be very NSFW towards the end.

Cyril had been pulled away from his stall in the courtyard to help some pilgrims who's cart broke on the road up here. It had broken his routine and gotten him outside of the castle. After everything was settled and the pilgrims were safe inside the walls, he had lingered outside.

He was starting to forget how much he enjoyed not being surrounded by crafted stone. Out here it was cold, and there was snow, and mountains, but he was alone and not cooped up.

He found a nice place that got some decent sunlight and sat. Now that he was completely by himself he pulled a silver ring from deep within his pocket and examined it, turning it over in his hands. This ring had belonged to Sam. Cyril had slipped it off his finger the first night they had met. Usually he'd sell such a thing, but he had kept this one and hadn't told anyone he had it.

Not even Merrick knew about it. Now that he thought no one could see him he could take it out and enjoy the shape of it.

Cyril frowned a bit. "But... it's still from your life before the circle took you?" he asks, seeking clarification. "Are you sure?"

"You've been taken care of it for a while now, don't see why you can't for a while longer." He's sure that he wants Cyril to keep it - just gave it a bit more significance didn't it? "Perhaps if I wasn't working the forge now I would have considered having it back. Being able to use the skills my father taught me is enough to remember home and him."

Cyril is reassured by that. He nods, accepting it, and slips the ring over his thumb. A necklace will be more secure for things like battle or traveling, but for now it's good there. "I'm happy that you have those memories."

Something he would have to work on getting soon it seems, finding a chain suited for carrying a necklace on Cyril's neck.

He almost says 'me too' but decides not to, just continuing to smile, more so when he sees Cyril put on the ring for display. "Should I actually make you a ring that fits?"

"I like this one," Cyril admits, and there is a real fondness in his tone. "But I do have many other fingers."

"I'm not saying replace it." Just a suggestion if Cyril wanted something that he could wear on his hand. "Which finger would you like one for?" he asks with amusement, taking Cyril's hand and spreading his fingers a bit. He didn't need to see his hand, it was more of an excuse to touch him, even though he probably didn't need to make excuses up anymore now.

"Hm," Cyril says thoughtfully, but mostly just to draw out how long Sam has his hand. "Any would be fine with me. Why don't you surprise me?"

"Am I to measure all your fingers then?" Would be easier to make the band the right size the first time. Sam hums thoughtfully, feeling up a couple of Cyril's fingers. "Which ones do you use for the bow?"

Cyril bends those fingers to show them to Sam. "These ones," he says. "The others should be free reign. And I wouldn't want you to make one for all of them, just pick one."

Sam snorts at that. "I'm not making you a ring for every finger, that's a bit too much. I'm just not sure which finger I want to use so measuring all of them would help so I'm not calling you in constantly." He's just messing, but seriously he isn't sure which finger he should put a ring on.

"Any other fingers that should be ring free?"

Cyril raises his brow a bit in a way that clearly shows his thought process went somewhere dirty. "Why? Is there some dangerous place you want me to stick my fingers in?"

He isn't too familiar with the look, but he still understands it enough to raise his own brows in curious interest, wondering what Cyril is thinking about. Clearly his mind had gone someplace he hadn't considered at the time, and still not quite getting. "Exactly where do you think I want your fingers?"

Cyril shrugs, managing to fake a bit of innocence. "Somewhere fun," he says after a moment.

Trying to fake innocence more like it, he saw that look, Cyril. "Hm," Sam hums in response to that answer, still watching Cyril as if that will give him the answer. "Someplace 'dangerous' and 'fun'?"

Cyril chuckles a bit. "Maybe one time when we're alone in your room, I'll show you."

That seems to be enough for Sam to get where Cyril is going, and while he doesn't out right turn red, there is a bit of coloring to his cheeks. Or it could be the cold. Who know.

"Putting your fingers in the forge is not fun, Cyril." That's what they're talking about right?

Cyril laughed a bit and then leaned up and kissed Sam's cheek before pulling away. He clearly thinks that Sam is far too cute for his own good, and is enjoying that they can openly be affectionate now. "I should head back to the castle. Did you want to run around on your paws a bit more? Or come with me?"

He hardly tries to cover the lopsided grin that's on his face now, though it lessens a bit as he tilts his head at the questions, considering the offer. Looking at his hands he gives a shrug. "Think I've practiced enough for today." So that's a yes for coming along. "Why do you need to head to the castle?"

"Because there's a tavern there and fire and much less snow," Cyril responds easily, smiling. "Did you want to join me?"

"What? You seemed to really like snow during the snowball fight." Speaking of snowball fights and taverns. "Your team won that, right?" he asks, moving to stand next to Cyril as they start to walk.

"We did," Cyril said, chuckling a bit. "And mostly I liked cuddling to warm up after the snowball fight."

Sam hums lightly at that, seemingly both happy for Cyril and not at all glad about the win at the same time. "So that's where you disappeared to do after the fight?" He's more than certain that Cyril had ended up with Taas after that.

"I had to make sure I didn't freeze off my fingers someway," he teases a bit. "And just think, if they had, I wouldn't be able to make naughty jokes with you about using them to, uh, simulate you."

He really thought Cyril was going to go with something about rings with that, but nope, right into the gutter. The chill air is not really covering up the blush now, bringing a hand up to cover his mouth a bit as he clears his throat a bit. "They're just jokes?"

"I suppose they aren't anymore, are they?" Cyril asks. "Not that we've both admitted to wanting to each other naked. There's no point to not do that."
