| Clan Ashara currently resides in a small valley nestled into the mountains, that seems idyllic for a Dalish clan. A stream runs through the valley, descending into a waterfall with the steep cliffs on one side, and sheer mountain walls going straight up on two other sides. The only way in and out is through a gap big enough to lead several aravels through. It's a defensible position, safe from any threats. Except the fade rift that has opened up just a little ways from the gap. The hunters can handle the demons spewing from it well enough, and there are always a couple stationed there to pick off whatever appears. But it's too dangerous to lead the aravels and noncombatants through, and thus, they are forced to wait. To compound the issue, there's a village close to where they're currently staying, and while both sides have kept to themselves, neither are pleased with the current situation. They've helped get a message to the Inquisition in hopes that someone will come take care of the problem, and now both are tensely waiting for something to happen to change the situation, for better or worse. And so the members of Clan Ashara, with their friends in tow, return back to their clan. |

Is he supposed to bow? It's possible he's supposed to bow. But the horse jerks its head restlessly, and his arm along with it, and that's as good an excuse as any to get distracted calming it down and stay upright.
"Alistair," he says in the meantime, after Kallian. He glances back toward the Keeper and adds, "I'm a Grey Warden," and nothing else, although his smile hopefully means that the greeting is not disrespectfully brusque. Only disrespectfully casual and friendly.

(She's definitely talking about them.)
Deheune, meanwhile, is oblivious to her children being GOSSIPS, and instead listens attentively to them, giving each one a polite smile and a nod. Ellana is given a perfunctory look-over to ensure she appears to be alive and in decent health, and a murmured Aneth ara before turning to Sina. Here, she pauses, giving Sina a more scrutinizing look, expression thoughtful. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Siuona. I don't know if you are aware, but some of your clanmates are here. They were unfortunate enough to be stuck with us in our current trouble, but I'm sure they'll be glad to see you."
Kallian gets a quick once-over, and she only stops to quirk an eyebrow just slightly, when Kallian mentions her father's people. "Greetings, child. Do you happen to know which clan your father originally hailed from?" And then to Alistair, and there's a moment where her expression flashes to recognition, one that Alistair has probably seen countless times. That Alistair? But she grants him the mercy of not touching on that for now, instead just giving him another polite smile. "I dare hope that we do not have darkspawn on top of everything else, but I am glad to see someone of your order here, nevertheless."

He does, however, pay attention when the Keeper focuses on Kallian. A odd bit of protectiveness and desire for her to be accepted by everyone in the Clan showing itself in his chest.
He finds himself moving a little closer to her, almost protectively, but doesn't step into answering for her or anything like that - she's still fully capable of that herself after all.
Besides, he has to let himself get a little distracted by the Keeper's son. If this weren't such a serious situation he'd probably wink at Sorrel at least once.

As it is, he causes a slight diversion by showing up with a gigantic qunari.
It's quite impossible to avoid being noticed; Metaari towers over all of the little elves, and they gape and stare at him as the two of them make their way over to the Keeper. Even as the others introduce themselves and chat with Deheune, it's difficult to ignore this unexpected guest.
Merrick doesn't seem phased. He stands upright, expression hard, as if daring anyone to make a comment. Fortunately, most of the other elves seem quite speechless.

He stops when Merrick does and lets out a breath before giving as deep a bow as he can without looking ridiculous. "I am Metaari. I'm glad to be of any help to you that I can."
Was that... good? He hopes that's good. Refraining from making a joke about his own height was probably the hardest thing he's done so far today.

"Samouel," he says simply with a respectful bow of his head. "Thank you for having us." Now that he's introduced himself, Sam lets out a small sigh, a bit of her nervousness going away now that he's done it.

"Unfortunately, I don't. I know very little about my father. I've never had the chance to meet him."

"Andaran atish’an, it is my pleasure to welcome you to my clan." Here, she nods at them, and then at Sam as well, including him in the greeting. "It is also my hope that you'll be able to help. You have my thanks for traveling so far for us." She pauses, then somehow manages to straighten up more than she had been, raising a hand up.
Though no words were said, Beleth and Sorrel snap to attention like she had shouted for them, quickly falling back into position on either side of her, matching bookcase ends that only looked even more alike when paired with their mother.
"If any of you ever need assistance, and I am unavailable, either of my children should be able to help any of you with whatever you require. It is my hope that you find your time here as pleasant as possible, under the circumstances."
