The tables and chairs are set up, there's some parchment and a few quills for note-taking, and a table on the side has pitchers of water as well as a motley assortment of cups. He's done what he can, done the footwork and talking, and now has to hope it catches and spreads.
And hope Purrelden doesn't tangle herself around something with her leash again.

As it wraps up, the Vashoth woman smiles upon seeing Merrill's dog and reaches into her pocket. She's always keeping treats on hand, either for Lux or other animal companions. "Hey, you. You've been such a good boy. Hungry?" Crouching, she offers the treat before standing and smiling at Merrill. "Good work out there. I haven't seen earth magic used in quite that way before, but it was interesting to watch."

Are they close enough to fuck? Fuck it, Merrill is going in for a bouncy, quick hug.
"Thank you! We used to use it in the alienage in Kirkwall that way, sometimes -- the other mages and I that hadn't been taken to the Circle, that is. We would try to grow what we could for food and flowers so that we didn't have to buy it and so everything could look a little bit nicer."

"It's definitely an idea I can see catching on, especially since we have more than enough space in the valley to grow things. The more we can do for ourselves, the less we have to bring in, too. Hell, just use that to unstick any carts, and we'd have merchants practically begging for a mage in every caravan."
still so embarrassed about that typo
"You definitely have to have a good idea of the soil and what exactly is going on, or you can make things worse, but if you do? I think it's worth it." Better for the refugees, for merchants, for mages -- all in all, not bad for one spell.
