[Open] Mage Lyfe 101

WHO: OPEN, Anders
WHAT: Mage conferece on practical magic
WHEN: Kingsway 24th, all day
WHERE: Just outside Skyhold
NOTES: Plotting post and IC announcement.

The tables and chairs are set up, there's some parchment and a few quills for note-taking, and a table on the side has pitchers of water as well as a motley assortment of cups. He's done what he can, done the footwork and talking, and now has to hope it catches and spreads.

And hope Purrelden doesn't tangle herself around something with her leash again.

[ooc: hop on in, put up a header! If you have any questions, feel free to ask them on the ooc post or ping me on Plurk at Nadat!]

Barkley is about as excited to see Korrin as Merrill is, happily wriggling and bouncing up and down and trying to lick her in the face. He calms once the treat is in his mouth, happily chowing down and- well, still wriggling. He's very happy about treats, too. Merrill just giggles a little at the dog and beams back at Korrin.

Are they close enough to fuck? Fuck it, Merrill is going in for a bouncy, quick hug.

"Thank you! We used to use it in the alienage in Kirkwall that way, sometimes -- the other mages and I that hadn't been taken to the Circle, that is. We would try to grow what we could for food and flowers so that we didn't have to buy it and so everything could look a little bit nicer."

So much wriggling! Korrin will get back to you, Barkley, honest. But since he has the treat to tide him over for a bit, the Vashoth mage will happily turn her attention to Merrill. She gets a warm, enthusiastic hug in response, and though it's tempting to lift her up (you weigh nothing to her, Merrill), Korrin decides to spare her dignity this time.

"It's definitely an idea I can see catching on, especially since we have more than enough space in the valley to grow things. The more we can do for ourselves, the less we have to bring in, too. Hell, just use that to unstick any carts, and we'd have merchants practically begging for a mage in every caravan."

still so embarrassed about that typo

Attention is best, but treats are also best. (He is a dog, all things can be Best.) Attention for Merrill is good too though, so he's content to chew on the treat for now, while Merrill is pleased that the hug is returned -- and wouldn't, in truth, mind being picked up or even spun around.

"You definitely have to have a good idea of the soil and what exactly is going on, or you can make things worse, but if you do? I think it's worth it." Better for the refugees, for merchants, for mages -- all in all, not bad for one spell.

"I know it's just asking for ox-jokes, but I might have to learn more of earth-magic later. Not that I'm a farmer, but it'd still be helpful to pass that on. I'm trying to finish Knight-Enchanter training before I do anything else, though. If Vivienne thought I wasn't giving it due attention, she'd probably stop training me." And Korrin will pass on that; they disagree on everything politically-speaking, but she wants to keep proving that she's up to the challenge.
