Open log (intro!)
WHO: Prompto and you!
WHAT: Prompto arrives at Skyhold
WHEN: Now until before the move to Kirkwall
WHERE: Skyhold
NOTES: Mods are okay with him just doing his own intro, rather than a Rifter arrival log. That said, feel free to handwave your character having helped him when he first came through a Rift

[So THAT had been fun. As if falling out of a Rift and onto his butt wasn't bad enough, but then he'd been chased after by daemons and nearly killed, saved only by some sympathetic locals who luckily seemed to know how to fight.
Still rather shaken up by the whole thing, Prompto now finds himself in what they're calling Skyhold, a rather remote fortress. All he knows is that A) it's cold and B) he is so not in Eos anymore. He sticks out like a sore thumb, what with his clothes and the camera he's carrying. He often fiddles with the thing, unsure as to how he got it. It's not the camera he had back home; this thing is an old machine, where you have to develop the film by hand. Clunky, but also isn't battery charged which is good, because he hasn't seen one friggin' outlet since he arrived. In fact, he hasn't seen much of anything he's familiar with.
With a pack of camera equipment, said camera around his neck, and the clothes on his back, Prompto wanders around Skyhold, looking very lost and unsure as to what he's even supposed to do, or more importantly, how to go home.]
Um... you wouldn't happen to know how I could go back to where I was?
[Help the cinnamon roll out?]

[He knows Rifters have been coming here for about a year and a half, according to one report he's heard.]
Thanks! [Yay, overwhelming day just got a little better! He smiles widely.] I really appreciate it. [He looks down at his own clothes, smiling a bit wistfully.] Well, you know, I'm a pretty stylish kind of guy [Yeah okay Prompto. A kilt looking thing and a leather sleeveless jacket are not fashion highlights] but I know beggars can't be choosers.

A little over a year now, actually.
[ He smiled wearily at that, but in truth it had not been all bad. He had good friends here, good lovers, and he would not wish to undo those meetings even as he yearned to be home with his family, with his ship. ]
You can keep what you have, you just might want to either repurpose it or keep it for nights when you have nothing else. This area is safe enough to walk around in that in, given this is where all the Rifters stay, but if you go to another town you'll want to change. I'll write up some basics you should know too - how the currency works, some major cities, and some basics for interacting with people like the Qunari and the elves.
Word of advice - don't believe what you read in the library about them.
[ He gave him a sympathetic pat on the shoulder. ]
It's going to be a lot to take in, but it's always better to ask a question if you don't know, all right? You can ask me, or I have quite a few friends who will answer you too and you won't get in trouble.

[HE SHOULDN'T ASSUME because who knows. Some people might be glad to be here, especially if things were shitty back home.]
Yeah, it's a lot. But I've had a bunch thrown at me before and I just roll with it, you know? Hopefully no major faux pas moments on my end in the meantime? [A very possible scenario. Prompto doesn't always have the most graceful social skills.] Seriously, though, I really appreciate all this.

In some ways I am glad. I've met some really amazing people, people I care about. And I don't regret that. But I've been away from my ship for a year now. I wouldn't be surprised if my crew has reported me dead, but knowing them they might keep on searching anyways. They're all stubborn like that.
[ He smiled, faint and fond and warm as he thought of them. But there was sadness there too, the pain of loneliness of being the only person from his world. ]
You're quite welcome. Just don't go getting into trouble? That's all I ask.

Oh, you serve on a ship? Are you military? Or, like, a fisherman or something?
[Space slight doesn't seem to be a thing in Eos, so that's his first assumption when he hears ship.]
Yes sir! [He gives a little mock salute.]

Psuedo-military, but my mentor describes us a humanitarian and scientific force. I like to think of the later, honestly, but both versions are true. Military in that we defend Federation space and intervene in hostilities when asked by member planets, and the other two because - well, they're rather self explanatory.
[ If he had been following the edicts of Star Fleet he would have been far more vague, but the year he had been here he no longer found much point in sticking strictly to the protocols on such things. It was to hard to keep up the lies and the vagueness. Besides, most of the time people thought he was just making shit up anyways. Just more stories to add to a legion of others being spun, his voice no more unique than the bard the night before. ]
It's captain, technically speaking.
