"Talk to me," he says quietly. He can't end his lies; he can't tell her his name. But in everything else Anders believes he can be honest. "I'm not lying when I say I'm a spirit healer and I've attended to red lyrium poisoning before. I can try to fix what the Templar has done."

Her arm wavers back and forth with the rest: No, no, no.
"She said she could help. But I'm not blind. Please, I can’t lose my son too. He means well, it’s only you’ve seen the town. None of them will listen to us. They only see the money she brings."

"Let me begin with you first. I can be certain to heal you now, but the longer you're infected, the harder it will be. I'll do my best for him after. Please. Have a seat, let me see to you, and you can explain who this 'she' is and what she's paying the town for while I work?"
They're facing a larger situation than anticipated. Any information could be valuable here.

Her lips wobbles. She swallows hard, the next words anxious:
"You have to understand how it is out here, Serah. The Circles, they're so far, and with her mother gone... Who could do that to him?"
She says it like she's admitting a wrong; perhaps she thinks she is. There's every reason to believe Anders would be in favour of the Circles. Why wouldn't he? He's showed up with three templars in tow.
"She and Ada would play, and she seemed such a sweet girl, When Ada came back, she said it was for Stormy. They cleared the Chantry, the one those men stole —" Her fingers crook, drag him down with as she finally sits. Hushed: "— Said they'd keep the roads clear. No more bandits. No more soldiers."
"So long as we listened to that girl."

Cade stands and looks upright and dutiful, though his nerves give a jolt when he spies that the only familiar person approaching is Anders. He has a skittish but quiet look about him as he steps toward them, nonetheless committed to not fucking this up for everyone.

"I understand completely," Anders assures her. "No one who cared would tear a child from their parent or parents. Family is important, and too many have been ripped apart due to matters out of their control."
He kneels and starts casting, working on the lyrium corruption in her blood before it strikes him to worry about Cade getting close. She shouldn't have enough in her to set him off, but Maker, why are things never easy?
"Is Ada your daughter?" The story is still a little difficult to follow, but he's trying. A mage had been known in the village, this woman's daughter had gone off to become a Templar and come back... to protect Stormy? "And what did they steal?"

He does cast an uncertain glance over the newcomers, but otherwise keeps his distance, sitting back down on his sulkin' log to wait for everyone to come back.
