"Well, the weather is pleasant - I say we walk as long as your cave isn't too far. Otherwise I would suggest riding." Either would be pleasant.

"It's just in the mountains outside the city. Not too far. It won't even take half of the day."

"Ah, well then let us walk. If need be, I think we can make a lean-to if it gets too dark and we have to camp overnight." Well wasn't this turning into a right adventure? He smiled at Cyril, letting him lead the way.

"Ooh, the promise of sleeping so close to you makes me want to walk slower," Cyril responded with a smirk. "Let's do that."

"You say this now - wait until I work up a sweat from digging. By the by, where is our digging equipment?" It might actually be smarter to ride horses if they had to carry a lot of things, come to think of it.

"I already had it sent to the stables as I was planning on getting a couple horses," Cyril commented. Despite how coy he was being about everything and letting James choose what they did, he had planned somewhat ahead. He had been planning on stopping by there no matter what to pick up the supplies if James had picked some other traveling arrangement.

"And it's amusing to me that you think you being sweaty would somehow make you less appealing to me."

"...I keep forgetting how well prepared you Asharas are." James shook his head, as he shifted the direction towards the stable. "Right, well. Supplies, horses, and off we go."

"I would think it would be. The smell alone ..." He shook his head, smirking faintly.

"We should probably get some food too though... I didn't think that far ahead. We can pick some up before we leave though."

He thought about the suggestion of the smell for a moment. "Hm. This is where we differ, I suppose. I'd imagine it would be a very manly smell and that excites me, not the other way around."

"We can stop at one of the stalls on our way out of town. Farmers always like to sell their wares for the travelers leaving." He looked over at Cyril, before his lips quirked again. "I see ... remind me to attempt to guard my virtue then when I work up a sweat."

Cyril chuckled a bit. "You needn't worry about me coming after your virtue. Though, honestly, if you ever did take me up on my offer to pleasure you I would want to do it when you were completely comfortable."

"Well that's ... comforting, Cyril." James's smile crooked up at the corners, shaking his head a little. "Thank you for looking out for my maidenly charms."

Cyril chuckles softly at the thought of James as a 'maiden' and then focuses on getting their horses and supplies. Together they get rations, digging supplies, some healing materials (just in case), and horses.

Finally, Cyril has everything he needs and then they can set off. He has a map leading to some of the most prosperous caves and he uses that to start their path.

Once they're on their way, he looks over at James. "So now that we're sure no one is listening to us, can I get an assessment of how things are going? For the Inquisition, I mean."

James sat up a little straighter - his green eyes narrowing in thought as he gives Cyril's question it's due. After a few moments, he speaks. Measuredly and with a contemplative tip to his chin.

"I think we are much better off than we were a year ago. We have more funds, more information, more support, and most importantly -- more troops and more territory. What we do not have ... is a way to defeat either Corypheus or his dragon, so we are at something of a stale mate."

Cyril nodded at that, unable to stop himself from agreeing with the statement. "Which means that for now, we don't really have a way to prevent that terrible future Sam and the others saw..."

"...Not yet, no. We need to find a weapon - or a spell - or something that will rip apart Corypheus once and for all." James shrugged, "Until then, we are simply stuck - both sides. We are too large now for Corypheus to defeat directly, and at every turn we have stopped him. And he knows it. He is ... well, if he has any sense whatsoever, he is biding his time. Looking for an opening. Just as we are."

"That seems like the worst game of stale-mate imaginable, seeing as the fate of Thedas hangs in the balance."

"I could not agree with you more." He sighed softly, looking to the road ahead.

"This is probably why I spend more time talking about bedding beautiful men than anything serious," Cyril comments, grinning a bit as he tries to change the subject.

"That's a much more fun topic of conversation."

"...I had wondered if you were simply sexually starved for good partners or you were always looking for a way to avoid the topic of conversation." He smirked slightly, as he clicked Dauntless towards the side of the road.

"And how goes the conquests?"

"I've mostly settled on Sam, for now," He says after a moment, with a bit of a sigh. He's very careful to appear as relaxed and amused by the topic as possible, but there is a hand that goes up to his chest where he wears the piece of dragon tooth under his tunic.

"Taas is out there somewhere too. And... well, we'll see if I find anyone else."

He tries not to think too hard about Iskandar.

"Sam is not a bad person to settle on, honestly." James stated thoughtfully, because it is Sam, after all. He watched Cyril touch his chest, his gaze curious, before it turned soft.

"...You will. One day. I know you will."

"Or I could end up one of those fuddy duddys who ends up with only one person," Cyril scrunches up his nose. "How boring."

Then he chuckles a bit at his own joke, "Though, you're right. Sam is the perfect person to do that with. He's so lovely."

James's comment was utterly dry, "Yes, how very terrible to have to settle on one person. You live in such hard times, Cyril."

Cyril makes a slight face when he realizes that it's kind of a terrible thing to say to someone who hasn't had the best of luck in his own relationships. But then, he really can't pass up that joke that James handed to him.

"Something is usually hard, yes."
