WHO: Anyone who wants to come!
WHAT: Cyril plans a surprise party for Sam and Kirk
WHEN: This Saturday
WHERE: Sam and Kirk's home
NOTES: This is the party Cyril started planning here. I'm going to include two header comments for prep before the party, and for Kirk and Sam to come home so everyone can enjoy the 'Surprise!' moment, otherwise, please treat this like a normal mingle post, put in your characters enjoying the party and tag around!

Cyril was pleased with how many had wanted to help with this party. Christine had offered to distract both Kirk and Sam. Adasse had put together some tasty potatoes. Korrin had arrived to help arrange furniture to use the space better for a crowd and had brought spiced wine and sweets. Anders had helped with decorations.

They had done well, even with the food shortage, and the house smelled inviting thanks the the work of everyone coming together.

She might feel like she sticks out, but Cyril is going to make sure she feels welcome. Or at least that she knows that she is. He's very pleased to have her, even more so because she's a friend of Kirk's and a Rifter. He wants every Rifter to feel welcome around him - so long as they're not jerks. If she has Kirk's stamp of approval though, she's probably not that.

"I'm so glad you made it! Did you want me to get you anything? Something to drink perhaps?"

Rey isn't accustomed to people offering to get her things, even though she's been to a few of the larger events the Inquisition has been invited to. She shakes her head at his offer, giving him a small smile.

"I'm okay right now, but you don't need to trouble yourself, I can get it myself."

"It's no trouble," he admits. Then, after a moment, he says gently, "It's actually a socially acceptable excuse to come talk to you without putting you on the spot. I suppose I could have started with 'how you are doing?'"

"Oh," Rey looks a little embarrassed that she hadn't picked up on it, her smile growing a little as she fidgets with her wrist cuff.

"I might have picked up on it faster if you'd opened with 'how are you doing?' yes. I'm okay. This is really nice, what you've done for Kirk and Sam." She hesitates a beat on the second name, she's heard Sam mentioned once or twice, but never met him.

"I'll have to be more direct in the future," he promises her, and he puts any social awkwardness on him rather than on her misunderstanding. He offers her a pleased smile.

"And you think so? I'm glad. I hope they are enjoying themselves."

Rey glances over to where she can just see Kirk, talking to someone she doesn't know, before nodding her head, looking back at Cyril.

"I think they are. It's a nice reminder, the friendships they've built since coming here." That's how she sees it, anyway. That so many want to celebrate something with Kirk and Sam, she understands the appeal.

"And a way to make new ones," he points out. He smiles in a way that hints that he thinks of it in the same way. There are people here he's never met, like her. People who might become good friends.

She smiles, letting out a small laugh and inclining her head.

"I guess so. You're... Dalish, aren't you? I haven't actually spoken to that many of your folk." If she really thought about it, the only dalish elf she'd actually spoken to previously was Sina. She's not great at making friends.
