[Closed] I've got the magic in me

The warehouse is set up pretty sparsely. Part of the warehouse is taken up by a table of food next to a table of drinks next to a table of plates and cups that don't match, near a lot of scattered chairs. A short space away is a deliberate oval of chairs because he, at least, is amused in making sure no circle shapes occur here. Finally, there's a table with a stack of scraps of parchment.

When everyone's gathered and is starting to mingle, Anders stands up and clears his throat.

"Thank you for coming." It takes work to look calm and confident. This feels so important to him and he doesn't want to make a mess of it. "Obviously the food and drink is self-explanatory," he says with a faint smile before gesturing at the oval, "As far as the rest, I figured we could have a small area set up for serious discussion, any heavy matters that people want to talk about, easily joined and left or ignored completely."

He jerks a thumb in the direction of the last table. "Finally, the parchment is for writing down anything you particularly want to teach or learn. Put your name on it, and people can page through them and be in contact. And I think that's enough from me."

"Don't worry, that's all I'm going to say on it. I'm just here for the food and maybe gaining a student or two, if anyone's into learning Battlemage or Knight-Enchanter stuff from me." She shrugs, preferring to stay mellow about it all for now and see how things go.

"Sadly, I am already a battle mage ... and honestly while I like the Knight-Enchanter? I prefer what I am learning from Pel. Arcane Warrior is more versatile with Force magic." She beamed at Korrin, before her gaze became more serious. "But really, how are you doing? After ...everything."

Korrin's smile fades and she takes another sip of wine before answering. "...I'm taking it day by day, and thinking about ideas for another memorial tattoo. I'd ask Nahariel, but...not yet. She has enough shit to deal with, I don't want to add to it."

She automatically put a hand on Korrin's arm, her brown eyes going sympathetic, but not pitying. "I understand. So. Perhaps I could get your support for a side project I am considering?"

That has Korrin raising an eyebrow, curious. "Oh? What do you have in mind?"

"I want to have the forest that Sina had made ... well. I want to build a statue of her there. I'd like to get the park named for her - but - yes." She rolled her eyes.

[gatheringstorm]

"...but getting a park named for a Dalish elf is a likely unwinnable battle, I know." Korrin sighs. "A statue -or a mosaic or something like that- would be nice; check in with Nari? She'd probably have some good suggestions for her clansister on that end."

"... listen, not even the Dalish who fought with the Hero of Fereldan are remembered." Bethany sighs, deeply. Then brightens. "Oh, that would be nice! Uhm - would - Nari talk to me?"

Korrin nods, a small smile forming. "Nahariel's not going to be at her best right now, but I think she might listen. I don't think it would do her any harm to know that others thought highly of Sina, and want to keep her memory alive."

She sighed softly, nodding her head. "If I lost Carver, I doubt I would be capable of anything near thought for a really long time. But, yes, I think it is important for us to remember her."

"Same. I plan to do that anyway, but it helps to know that others are of the same mind. Now I just have to find out what tattoo I can get that would properly memorialize her without offending the Dalish." If Nari's too muddled for that, at least they have others to ask.

"Well, I would think as long as we did not use their special ink ... it would be all right?" She gnaws on her lip. "Perhaps a flower of some kind. One that symbolizes Sina?"

Korrin nods, draining the last of her cup. "Given her role as Head Gardener, it'd be fitting. I originally thought of a halla, but that might be toeing the line, so a flower of some kind is more likely. Or whatever she loved most about the forest here. It's her legacy, after all."

"It is, and it should be available to the public .... but we'll see how much sway I can get going on that." She exhaled slowly, and smiled, "It will help to have support from all walks of life in Kirkwall. I wanted to ask the alienage elves as well -- but I might just ask someone to ask for me."

"I can ask a friend from there, if you want. He might have some suggestions, too." She hasn't talked to Adasse in a while, anyway. It's time to change that, and this is something that she's fairly sure he'd have some good suggestions about.
