And then she follows the direction Sarah's pointing to, spotting Franklin contently lurking in his basket. His nose is tucked under some material, and then he looks at Herian before LOOKING AWAY.
Herian, for her part, looks between the two, and pushes herself up from her seat. )
Come in, Sarah. You may... shut the door, if you wish. ( She's really not sure to say. ) I take it... Franklin has absconded with something?

[ She shuts the door behind her and takes a step further into the room, though she's awkward about it. She is in nothing but a towel, after all, and she and Herian haven't exactly been friendly. ]

Dryly, ) I do not like to presume what others enjoy doing with their time.
( Moving to Franklin's basket, she retrieves the shirt, though not without needing to speak to him quietly, and Franklin holding onto the shirt with his teeth before obediently (woefully) letting go. Shaking the shirt out reveals a couple of corners to be wet with drool, and a few areas to be dusty from it being dragged through the dirt and across many floors.
She looks at the shirt, critically, and then looks to Sarah. )
I apologise for Franklin. He's a fiend of sock collection, generally. I see his interests have expanded.

[ She's referring specifically to the time Cosima lost him for a day, though she doesn't say so. She's not sure if Herian even knows that happened, and she doesn't want to be the one to throw Cosima under the bus if not. ]

I thank you for your concern. Certainly I will make sure to be more mindful with training him to stay close. I was not aware that he had wandered far enough to steal away your garments previously; if you require payment for laundering, I can see to it.

You come here and demand I hand over something not your own?
( Oops, she didn't mean to sound so—
well, all this. Taking a moment to calm herself, she stops. )
I will give you something of my own. Cosima's belongings are not mine to give.
no subject
What? She won't care. I'll give it back to her when I get to my place. She's my sister.

[ Sarah's chin juts out, petulant, and her eyes move to where Herian's crystal is hanging. DO IT. DO IT!!! She dares you!!! ]
no subject
She pointedly does not fiddle with the communication crystal hanging from the leather cord at her, and instead watches Sarah cooly. )
I have offered you my own clothes. I fail to see why they might be insufficient.
no subject
Cos, it's Sarah. I'm at Herian's wondering if I can borrow one of your shirts.
[ AND THEN COSIMA SAYS YES. HAHA, SUCK IT, HERIAN. ]
no subject
Herian nods respectfully, and moves to the door off her office, which leads into the private quarters she and Cosima share. She grabs a couple of garments - one darker, one a deep red - and returns to the office, but leaves the door open. )
You are welcome to change in there, if you like.
( Rather than continuing to run around naked. )
no subject
[ She grabs the darker shirt and carries it and the rest of her clothes into the private quarters. ]
Not that you haven't seen it all before, yeah? [ she says, much more cheerfully (because she won the argument), before shutting the door in Herian's face. ]
no subject
It's a good thing they are both super mature adults. )

I apologise. And I will see to bettering Franklin's training.

[ For a second, it looks like Sarah will leave without saying anything else, but then she stops herself. ]
What has she told you? About home?
no subject
She told me that she has many sisters, though you were none of you raised together, for the sake of an experiment to study how different circumstances might shape each of you. That all of you were lied to, and subjected to experimentation and examination without your permission, and at times betrayed by people you trusted. Personal agency was... rended from herself, and all of you.
( There have been so many small conversations these past two years, Herian not eager to push or demand, and Cosima perhaps guarding herself in a different way than Herian does. Where Herian lets ice crawl over her, Cosima acts as if the world is sunny and warm even when terrible things lurk. )
Your world sounds a dark and dangerous place, even without magic and demons, but she... told me that she trusts your word.

[ Sarah adjusts the damp towel in her arms, crumpling it into a smaller ball so she can carry it without getting Cosima's shirt wet. She feels like she's definitely overstayed her welcome and moves to leave again, then thinks better of it and adds, ]
She's known you two years, but I don't know you at all. It's nothing personal.
no subject
Maker. ( And Cosima doesn't know? She seems like the breath has been taken out of her. ) That's... horrifying, Sarah. Are you— do you mean to tell her?
( A moment, and she flexes her fingers to resist the urge to fidget. )
I understand that you cannot know me or trust me as she does, but if you've questions you ever wish to ask, please know yourself free to. I will answer as ably as I can. And... though I do not know the horrors you all of you have endured, I have known... I have known some horrors. They are hard to explain without... without context.

[ To the rest, she just listens. When Herian is finished speaking, she nods in acknowledgment. ]
