NOTES: Dog shenanigans
This is Captain Malcolm Reynolds of the Freighter Serenity and I'm look'n to find some work in and around Skyhold. You need somth'n found, somth'n lifted, somth'n delivered? I'm your man. Wanna wander around outside all casual-like for any reason and want a guard? I can do that too. Most any job that needs do'n I can see to long as I get paid.
...And I'm also look'n for a dog.
So here's the thing- I mighta misplaced somth'n that's liable to wander a li'l bit. Big, brown, kinda fat for a Mabari- answers to Jayne or Salaud depend'n on what he's after. If you got valuables that smell like food or herbs or whatnot I'd double check 'em as he's got a habit of digg'n around, gettin in what ain't his, and eat'n it. Don't be fooled. He ain't a starv'n waif, he gets fed plenty. You see him and he's in somth'n he shouldn't be? Whap him and he'll wander off. You see him and aren't all that inclined to give him a smack? Come find me. I'm the mighty tall fellow wander'n around with a long brown coat and a staff that ain't a mage. Point me in his direction and I'll get it all sorted.
[ On the Bulletin Board: ]

[ Will work for pay. No job too small. Contact Cpt. Malcolm Reynolds with inquiries.
Also: Dog Missing. Goes by Jayne. Contact Cpt. Reynolds if found. ]

Where's your human, hm? He's gotta be around here somewhere....

[ settled in comfy cozy with Korrin, the mabari didn't so much as whuff at the sound of Malcolm's voice. Doesn't so much as move when he finally sticks his head in to glower at his damn dog being a damn pest and- ]
...You been feed'n him, I take it?
no subject
Of course. It's rude not to offer anything when having a meal, you know. Besides, we were going to find you after.
[Well, she would have, though Jayne looks entirely too comfortable. The empty plate next to him might have something to do with that.]

[ If it weren't the first time he's seen Korrin since he got in he'd turn on his heel and leave them to it; but it's been a fair while and he has missed her something fierce. It's enough reason for him to walk in and extend an arm. ]
He's gonna get fleas on ya if you stay down there.

I'm surprised you haven't taken advantage of his overeating to rid him of them while he's incapacitated. I'd be glad to help, of course. Hopefully he'll forgive me after all that steak.

Wish I could say it's good to see you but when you keep feed'n that beast and not keep'n him, gets a little hard to say it and mean it.

Hey, I was doing you a favor. Better that I distract him than he get into other people's things and bring their wrath down upon you. And there are plenty of high-strung Orlesians around to get offended at the slightest thing. As I've heard the ambassador say, never underestimate those for whom outrage is a national sport.

How discreet are you in these shipments?

There is something I need delivered to me. However, it is... a bit of a distance away. Kirkwall. How far are you willing to go?

I'd like to discuss the details in person, if you're willing, Malcolm.

All four of them.
Finding the guy was easy enough, especially considering the description he'd sent over the crystals, and Varric took no issue sauntering up to him. He looked a little less wealthy than usual, an unfortunate side effect of the Fallow Mire and (subsequently) having to burn his favorite outfit, but his clothing was still tailored and gilded, so it sort of broke even.]
How do you feel about making sure things don't get delivered?

Oh, just people. [Like the Carta, or the Merchant's Guild, or the Coterie, or Sebastian Vael, you know, People.] I planned on throwing them out, anyway; you tossing them into the fire for me just saves on time.
It's really more...a personal assistant job than, say, mail theft.
Depending on how you look at it.

[ Man's got his attention though, he'd give him that. He flicks his pen dry on the inside of his shirt cuff (shirt, not coat, you don't treat good leather like that) and sits back to face him proper. Try to get his measure.
Somth'n about his face seemed mighty familiar but he couldn't put his thumb on it. ]
You want me t'make sure stuff don't get t'you. That right?
no subject
[Varric shrugs, looking all the world like a man just having a casual conversation and not someone trying to dodge out on enough angry letters to crush a druffalo.]
Not indefinitely, of course, but I could use a vacation and, well, plausible deniability is worth it's weight in gold.
[Plausible Deniability was a favorite of Varric's. Hell, it was practically his middle name.]

[ Honest folk don't rightly need to get caught up in dishonest dealings. He's not say'n no just yet- but it is something he wants to hear this fella's take on before he says yest.
He needs the coin. Can't get too judgey. ]
You gonna pay by letter burnt?
