Tony is sitting off at an angle with his fellow Riftwatchers, slouched deep in his chair and a leg folded over the other. It seems like an inevitability, that they'll volunteer to go in, that they'll encounter some dangerous nonsense, but he's not exactly chomping at the bit to start. He left quite a bit of blood behind in Ghislain and the spot where it left him still pulses and aches when he moves wrong.

He asks, on the back of Jos's question, "And what do you want with the research? Your interest lies in the affected Legion or the stuff in the mine?"

Edgard knows he's out of place with this group, but the second he heard a party was going to research red lyrium he inserted himself with full intent to make sure they didn't do anything stupid. He folds his arms over his chest.

"What he said," pointing to Tony, "and also how exactly do you plan to make sure we don't return like the others?"

Gedic sizes them all up after the torrent of questions stops, staring at Thranduil as if anticipating more. When none come, he looks first to the woman.

"We've got maps. Legion'll have them too, if you manage to find the missing ones." He takes a moment before he answers Tony and Edgard, his fingers drumming on the stone table. He sneaks a look at Thranduil, then addresses Tony.

"There's red lyrium down there. Know that from your work," he says. "I want to know how much. You folk know how to handle it, get in, get out. You handle that, and my caste, at least, will be grateful. It'll keep mining going."

It seems impolitic to point out that Riftwatch's broad, generalized knowledge of handling red lyrium doesn't necessarily extend to the people sitting in front of him right now having a specific knowledge of it—it is clear, regardless, that they are going to have to figure it out fast now that they're here.

With nothing left to say that isn't going to cast doubt on them in front of the person expecting their aid, Joselyn holds her peace.
