[A menagerie, that’s what they’re presently staring down.

Creatures of every conceivable shape and size, all of them altered, all strange beyond belief: warped so drastically by the Fade that they’ve little apparent relation to their own animalistic kin left— some too small, others sporting parts that don't at all belong, and others still seem to be flickering in and out of existence at will.

Beneath the heavy Venatori hood that he moves to tug back now that they've so thoroughly infiltrated the premises, staring at a host of pacing beasts in their enchanted kennels, Astarion tries very very hard not to think about what the similarities between this abnormal collective and Rifters themselves might somehow be.
