Maybe he feels a remote kind of pluck of regret, but nothing he hasn't felt fifty billion times in his life span, and dampened too with the fact that (despite incredibly steady hands, sharp focus, precise meat circles composed in a pile on the board) he is half-hammered. His mouth pinches at that cool okay and sets about sawing off a second slice of bread.

Cronchy.

"Well that's upsetting," Tony says, as he does so, not looking up from the task he's appointed himself. "Disappointing. Was that part of the calculus, when you guys had your little," a careless wave of the knife, and it truly is careless, no sense of threat for the fact he's gesturing with a deadly implement, "shaningle?"

"It's actually to do with the none of your fucking business part," is spoken calmly for all that she's bristling, and having another bite of apple even though she doesn't really want to eat it, "But thanks for saying so, you're really brave."

It isn't going to bother her, except that it kind of does.

Also if Tony is back on the meat circles she is sidling up to claim the heel of bread he's left behind.

"What I don't get," she says suddenly, "Is why you think you deserve to know anything about me."
