Pel looks up at Vivienne in surprise as she enters the room with grace and presence. And presents. She stares for a moment.

"You...want me to deliver those for you?"

Vivienne takes that question in stride without so much as a surprised blink, though that takes years of practiced grace to avoid it. There is an undisguised raise of one delicate eyebrow first, however.

"Of course not, darling. These are for you." Perhaps the Dalish do not observe Wintersend?

To emphasize that these are for Pel and not a fetchquest, Vivienne holds them out with a warming smile. In the smaller box are a fine set of jade combs, carved into a leafy motif to match the scarf she'd given the elf before. The other gift is a copy of Historical Magical Practices of the Ancient Elves by Brother Genitivi.

Pel's eyes pop at the combs. She actually spends the first few seconds considering their salable worth before realizing she is meant to wear them in her hair. Like a posh person. Expensive. A person who is worth more than the things she wears.

The book...oh, an addition to the collection of her most treasured, hugged to her chest when she sees it. She leafs through it delicately for a moment before deciding she knows how to read a book, but she doesn't know how to wear combs in her hair. She picks up one comb and tries tucking it into her hair like she sees some women do, toward the base of her braid. Just knowing it's there brings sudden tears to her eyes.

"For me?"

The second comb is taken in hand by Vivienne. She tucks it neatly into a secondary place, both practical and attractive, for Pel. "For you," she echoes as confirmation.

It's the hugging of the book which warms the Iron Lady the most, however. Seeing someone who can genuinely appreciate a gift of knowledge is a joy to her. There is a secondary gift in that line to offer Pel as well. "Knight-Commander Norrington tells me that the libraries of Ostwick were spared from looting and destruction and have been relocated to Tantervale. Once this conflict is over, I'll arrange for you to be granted access for perusal."

Over a thousand years of collected wisdom and research at her disposal.

Pel covers her eyes with one hand, ducking her head. After a moment, she regains her composure.

"I can't believe you did all this for me."
