He's tidied up his appearance, Vivienne notes with no small amount of approval. It looks good on him. Very good indeed. She also notices he's terribly engrossed in his work, and it seems almost a pity to disturb him. Judging by the plants he's inspecting, it's fairly obvious that it's one of the more important growths to keep healthy. Elfroot is the base of every basic healing potion, and Maker knows they go through it.

Silently she crosses the garden, eventually casting a shadow -an unmistakable shadow- across the herb bed under Bruce's personal care. "Do forgive me, the interruption, my dear. I shan't be a moment."

Even with as engrossed as he is his senses are quick to inform him of somebody's approach, and once he sees the shadow that's cast it only takes a moment for him to get a name - one that's confirmed when he hears that unmistakable voice. He straightens up and looks at Vivienne, as impeccable as always and apparently wanting him for something.

"Madam," he returns with a polite incline of his head, and after that he manages a small smile as he continues. "What can I do for you today?" She only ever really finds him when she requires something from him, after all. Which is of course perfectly alright with Bruce.

Vivienne hums softly to herself. He's overworked. She's quite certain of it now. He must be if he's forgotten what the day is. Well. Something shall have to be done about that.

"It's Wintersend, darling, you need do nothing at all!" There's a wave of one of her delicate hands, dismissing the notion that he need toil on her account for any reason today. There is the matter of the basket in the other hand, which she is handling most carefully. "I have something for you."

The basket is extended to Bruce to take, just the right size and sturdiness for a productive day's herb harvesting. It seems a simple enough gift, suited to his gardening endeavors, but the basket is far from.

The response takes Bruce a moment to process. Wintersend? Was it that time already? He hadn't even realized it - that certainly would the recent mood around Skyhold. But to think it was already Wintersend... it was hard to believe how much time had passed.

He puts that thought aside to dwell on later; right now he focuses on Vivienne and the present she apparently has for him, a present that Bruce takes with caution as he holds it in his hands and examines it curiously. He could sense the enchantment placed upon it, but of course Vivienne doesn't know that.

"...I appreciate the sentiment, Madam, but I do have a basket of my own." Not to disrespect her or anything of course, but he did have to play the oblivious fool in this case.

She politely doesn't draw any attention to his overworked state. For now. It's not as if Bruce were the only one who'd forgotten the date.

"Of course you do, my dear. I am hoping this one will be of some use to you. It's been enchanted to keep any plant placed inside it fresh as if it were still in the soil." It won't much help bigger things that don't fit inside the basket, but to her knowledge, most herbals used in medicine and alchemy aren't that large. "There's not another like it in the whole of Thedas."

--ah, so that's what it was. Bruce blinks in surprise - but its a good sort of surprise, and he holds the basket up higher to examine it even closer. It certainly seemed like nothing but a regular basket, but now that she had mentioned it, he could better figure out the enchantment on it. It was rather marvellous work, all things considered.

"I think I can find a good number of uses for it," he returns with a smile before he inclines his head in a polite bow, doing his best to show his appreciation for such a fine gift. "Thank you, Madam. You really didn't have to go to this kind of extent for me."
