The Orlesian tailors arrived in great state, bringing with them a cadre of servants, workers, and snotty attitudes. They hate everything. It is cold in Skyhold. It is damp. Everything smells of wet dog. The working conditions are abysmal. The food is criminal. There's not a damned thing they don't complain about, except for the piles of coin they stand to make from this soiree. Yes, they are more than content to build a fortune with exclusive work that will be seen by some of the aristocracy's finest.
Harritt apparently doesn't much like them either. They've taken over his Undercroft with their fabrics and threads, designs and opinions. Oh they have opinions. He stays to one corner, attending his work, and grumbling under his breath about the poncy cheesesniffers.

"They're not making you pay for the privilege, are they?" she asked. If Korrin's statuesque height was to be draped and bedecked in the fabrics and jeweled beads that had taken over her workspace... well. She didn't know the value for certain, but it would not be inexpensive. And the tailors--with their masks, and their aides, and their aides' aides--didn't seem like the kind of artisans who would accept barter.

"But since I am paying for this, I'm not allowing them to put me in anything ridiculous. Having them avoid typical Orlesian fashion is going to be an uphill battle, I just know it."

The thought of Korrin looking fierce and displeased covered in foofy layers of ruffled fabric appeared unbidden in her mind's eye and she snorted again--this time with laughter--and then quickly covered her mouth. This did little to disguise the amusement in her eyes.
"I wish you the best of luck with them," she said, sounding sincere despite the slight smile, "Truly. If anyone can manage it, it's you. I'm just glad I don't have to--" she stopped mid-sentence, eyes widening slightly. "Wait. Are all the mages going, or just the council?"

And if her clansister wanted to go...
"I'd... better find out what Sina thinks," she said grudgingly, then looked up at Korrin with a grin. "At the very least, I'll know there's at least one sane person around to talk to."

Korrin would just glare or loom or punch, but Vivienne would be so much worse.

"I'm not sure she'd defend me. When she came to visit Sina, I wasn't exactly...welcoming."
An understatement. She'd actually accused the woman of being party to the subjugation of the elves.

"You're... probably right." After all, what was one more angry elf?
She looked stormier for a moment, and then tried to distract herself with lighter things. "Tell me about Araceli--is she as cross as we are, or is she pleased with the chance to show off?"
