Herald's Rest

While her room's been mysteriously stolen by a mysterious shiteface, the tavern is still Sera's home in Skyhold. Drinking, playing cards, trying to avoid the weirdly intense gaze of the lady bard, Sera can be found doing them all now that she's finally back. As the night goes on the cheating becomes more flagrant and the stories louder, accompanied by wider and more dramatic arm flailing and occasional reenactments. Eventually, she tells the Tale Of The Time Cassandra Punched a Bear's Heart Out And It Got All Over The Herald's Clothes And I Laughed Then Shot Other Bears With Arrows. During her demonstration of the punch, she throws her hand back a little too hard and fast, hitting someone or knocking a drink over. But dealing with that has to wait until the story's done.

Out and About

Sera hadn't spent much time in the old fortress since she'd had to go off on Very Important Jenny Business (Possibly Involving Fire Ants and Honey), so it's time to get to know the place by the back of her hand again before starting up her services to the local community. Every hidden passage and unlocked (and unoccupied locked) room gets poked and prodded as the week goes on. All expect for one very specific room where she knows Creepy Cole likes to linger in, like some stupid ghost of the attic. Unless there's a juicy conversation to be overheard, she doesn't bother with stealth, just walking in and up to anything and anyone that strikes her. Anyone looking particularly servant-like will be getting chatted up whether the like it or not, along with most everyone else she comes across.

"I normally like drinking what alcohol I have, not so much wearing it for later. 'Sides, don't think I'm that flexible."

He manages to find a towel and wipe up most of it, but he's still going to have to wash it some so that he didn't smell of ale.

"Bout a few hours ago," he replies at first before leaning on on his chair and raising his brows in amusement. "If you mean Skyhold, 'bout a couple months ago, or about."

"What for? The second bit. I know why we come out drinking with this stupid going on."

Cory-butt burning the world, wardens being weird, balls? What's there not to drink about?

"Rifts, demons and the world ending? There's shit happening all over the place and I didn't see anyone getting anything done. Course then there's the Inquisition. Figured I stood a better chance fighting with the folks who weren't sitting on their hands."

There was probably more than that to drink to, but honestly he was going to drink even if there wasn't a reason.

"What 'bout you? Sounds like you've been with all this for a while, but this is the first time I'm seeing you."

"Same, yeah? 'Sides, Inquisition can't be all mopey seriousfaces like Cassandra and Vivi. Still a world going on, though. With Inky gone went to check in on all that mess."

And whole thinking of the Inquisitor turning into some symbol instead of a person forever was sick. She'd been better off being Jenny than watching that. It'd been long enough, now. Maybe. People were ready to hear about the person and still fight.

Mopey seriousfaces - he supposes that is a way to put it. He's had not the chance to meet them himself, so he'll have to take her level of seriousness about those two into consideration. "Who's... Inky?" The name or nickname is not one he is familiar with.

So she's been gone for a time. "What sort of things were you checking in on?" Obviously still a lot he did not know about the Inquisition and the lot that it brought in.

"People things. World's ending and all nobles think about is grabbing all they can from the normal people while no one's looking. Or so they think. My friends are always seeing things."

World may be on fire, but the people still had to make sure noble dickface's dinner was served on time. So there were still rick jerks to remind there was still some kinda fair left.

"So you've been gone righting these wrongs?" It sounded like a noble idea to put those higher up in their places for wrong-doings, but he's sure it's a bit more complicated than that. Or perhaps it was more simple. Probably best that the soiree had come and gone in that case, it would've been a shit show considering the stories she was telling.

"How far did you go for these things?"

"Some of 'em. Others are the others problems."

Like that made any sense. But there were so many Red Jenny's around, here and there. No point in too many in one spot.

"What'd you mean. Far?"

So a joint effort sort of thing.

"Like where'd you go? Ferelden? Orlais? Free Marches? Everywhere? There's a lot of nobles out there. Just curious where you ended up to give them a hell of a time."

"Everywhere fits."

She flashed a grin, having a little fun in being purposefully not helpful.

"Poking for a story?"

"Perhaps," he admits a bit.

"You certainly have a lot of them and you tell them, well... enthusiastically."

"No other way to tell 'em, yeah? Whole point of stories, to make people laugh."

Sad stories? Not part of her personal preference. Leave that bull to the Chantry and the Dalish. They sure made a living off it.

"Pick a place. Any place."

"Could certainly use a bit more humor around here, that's for sure."

There were more to sad and funny stories, but he will definitely take the latter anytime.

"Alright. Orlais then."

"Hmm...There's the time we rubbed all the underbits at some stupid fancy ball thing with poison ivy. Ever seen a whole dance floor try to itch their underbits without letting it show? Hehehe."

She can't help it. Just thinking of that night brings the giggles right back to her again.

"I can't say that I have." Not like he goes to many fancy balls or parties. Poison ivy on your tenders sounds rather terrible though and he wrinkles his nose a bit, course there is a bit of a grin as well. "How did you manage to get their underclothes?"

"Never be a shit to the people that manage your laundry. Or food. Just don't be shit to anyone who don't have it coming, really."

"Remind me to never get on your bad side, Sera." Not that he's minding to be a shit to anyone unless they ask for it, but he honestly does not want to see what sorts of stuff she's capable of coming up with.

"Words to live by. Now how 'bout another drink, huh?"

Him paying wouldn't hurt this whole staying on her good side thing. But she'll just laugh either way. It's good to be back.

He hears the suggestion in the question, and Garris sighs with an amused huff. "Sure, so long as you got another story under your bet to help pass it down." He was planning on spending his money on drinks anyways.
