Twisted Fate

As for Twisted Fate himself, he's sitting at his own table, with a bottle of honey mead imported from Orlais, and two glasses arranged -- one for himself, of course.

And one for you, most likely, as he waits for a second player.

For now, he is occupied by shuffling his cards thoughtfully.

Of course Korrin joins him as soon as she enters the tavern, flashing a grin as she notes the honey mead. Of course he would have one of her favorite drinks out. Slipping into a chair, she relaxes and lifts a glass.

"You go first. You started this, after all."

"For you, I'll even play honestly. I don't make that kind of promise lightly, spitfire."

He pours their glasses, and considers his words before saying, "I never used horn balm for myself."

Galadriel was, by in large, completely unaware of the game in question. However, the script on the invitation had been legible (and rather elegant) and she had yet to see many games of Thedas. It was a combination of curious elements (appreciation for penmanship and curiosity chief among them) that caused her to enter and decide to play but she had. It was not difficult to find someone to challenge, he had laid out his table thoughtfully, and she took the seat across from him with a calm smile and a glimmer of interest in her eyes.

"I've never played this game before," Galadriel informed him, in the subtle tone of someone who had, upon sight of the drinks, guessed the entire purpose of it but who did not immediately wish to reveal that information.

He knows for certain that he's seen her around before; a tall, incredibly beautiful elf is impossible to forget, after all, but the opportunity to speak or play hadn't been readily available.

When she sits, Twisted Fate tips his hat to her politely before he's pouring her a glass.

"I would take a sip at that statement," he says wryly. "The rules are simple, madame: you make a statement beginning with I never, and if your companion did in fact perform said statement, they are obligated to have a sip. For example, saying I never played this game before would have me drinking. However, if I said I never met an elf as tall as you before and you had met other tall elves, you would have a sip."

He smiles at her. "It would be my pleasure to have this game with you, if you'd like. I go by Twisted Fate."

The large warrior sits down on a chair that creaks warningly, holding out an ale to Twisted Fate and placing one in front oh himself. Raising one brow, he leans forward a bit.

"I have never gotten way too many questions about my tattoos."

The ale is taken with a nod and a grin, but the I never statement makes him laugh and he has a swig from his ale.

"And it will not ever end, I'm afraid," he remarks wryly. "I never had to worry about whether I was too large for a doorway."

Cyril hadn't seen the notice. If he had he might have avoided the tavern. Drinking games weren't something he was particularly interested in.

However, when he saw the man shuffling cards he couldn't help but feel a little better about the choice. "Looking to play a card game?" he asked with a very pleasant smile.

"Aren't I always?" is immediately Twisted Fate's response, a grin cracking as he looks over the other elf in front of him. The smile somehow only grows wider and he nudges the chair across from him slightly as invitation.

"Seen you around. Ashara clan?"

Why not? Training and quality time with certain people take up most of her day, but Korrin's also determined to enjoy the amenities of the tavern before being shipped out again. Drinking games are always welcome, so she'll pick a table and order some Chasind sack mead...if she's going to do this, might as well have the good stuff. If that isn't to her partner's taste, then they'll try something else; Antivan brandy, ordinary Ferelden ale, and so on. Fortunately, maraas-lok isn't available. She doesn't want to be responsible for any black-outs.

He... doesn't know what this game is, and it's for that reason that Sam finds himself going into the tavern. Upon seeing Korrin, he easily slips into a chair opposite of her and gives a small smile. "Just here drinking, Korrin, or are you here to play as well?"

Korrin flashes a grin upon seeing Sam and nods. "Oh, I'm willing and able. Chasind sack mead sound good to you, or would you like something else? Now's the time to change your mind."

Beleth is happy to sit down across from Korrin, though she looks unsure about the mead. A quick taste test later, she decides that she can probably play with it, without dying of alcohol poisoning. Or worse, embarrassing herself. The elf flashes her opponent a grin, ducking her head thoughtfully.

"I'll stay away from the obvious. Never have I ever...hurt myself in an alcohol-related incident."

"Thanks for that. I've already gotten too many of those." Korrin raises her mug to Beleth, then takes a sip. "I've a scar from it, too. Not the one on my face, but...elsewhere. Let's just say it happened before I learned proper respect for the potency of qunari drinks.

I've never...hm, gotten sea-sick."

This sounds fun. A lot of fun -- he's not sure if the game means he has to drink if he hasn't done something, or if he has, but hey. He's up to the challenge. Bound and determined to do well.

Because clearly, even relaxation is an opportunity for winning.

As far as drinks go, he went with plain old beer. He's not feeling adventurous enough in that area to go experimenting. Not yet.

"All right, slick. Let's have a game."

Sitting next to Sideswipe is Twisted Fate, his cup full in one hand and a bottle in the other.

"Why don't you start us off?"

He perks up at the voice, at the sudden inclusion. Yes, score! Just what he's been going for. Grinning, he holds up a hand, about to speak up...

... wait.

Oh no, he should have had something ready.

"Uhhhh..." Oh, oh -- "I never got a tattoo!" Hah! Perfect!

Oh look, a game he knows! Give him the booze, people.

The horned teen nervously looks around for certain scary Ben-Hassrath before he enters the tavern and joins at the first open table.

Okay, fine. If Kas wants to participate in drinking games, it might as well be with someone looking out for him. Korrin flashes him a smile, starting to pour enough for both. If he's old enough to risk his life for the Inquisition, he's hold enough for a drink.

"I've chasind sack mead, if you don't mind. There's no more maraas-lok, and that'd be like bringing a naval cannon to a staff fight, anyway."

That's what he's talking about! Drinking isn't half as bad as dying - besides, he's seventeen. Practically a man already!

(Not that Ferelden kids didn't get ale with their mother's milk.)

"Mead's fine! I like it," he replies with a grin. "I'll start! I've never seen an Orlaisian without a mask."

Oh, he likes this game, and it means he could do something nice when drinking... like getting to know other people. Plus drinking.

He sits himself in a good place with a few mugs of ale to share, hoping his appearance didn't scare too many people off.

Drinking and getting to know Taas are always fun things to do, so Korrin will join him with a smirk. "At least we can skip the usual 'I never' comments I get from people who aren't our kind. There are more interesting things to talk about than horns."

He snorts at that, nodding. "It's usually the first question... I should start not drinking to it just to confuse them." There's a small shrug, and he scoots over a mug to her.

"I've never been on a 'date'."

So he'd been encouraged to try and socialize a little more. Open up to the others of Skyhold that weren't other elves. Maybe find a reason not to be so loathing of most everyone he came across. And yet, he still has a sour look on his face, sitting in a wooden tavern chair with his knee against the edge of the table, tipping his chair up onto its rear legs and rocking subtly with the restless tapping at the air that his foot was doing. He was certain that he would be proven right when nobody sat there in front of him for this "game": nobody here gave a damn about yet another stray elf. Anyone that comes to sit with him will have to either bring their own drink, or else come to an agreement with him and order some. He doesn't have enough faith that he'll be joined to order some beforehand.

Even if he was supposed to be socializing with people who weren't elves, Beleth couldn't help but glance over, shaking her head when she saw the dour look on his face. He certainly wasn't going to win over anyone with that attitude. She grabbed two mugs of ale and drifted over, setting one down in front of him, and keeping the other for herself as she sat down across from him. Maybe she could cheer him up enough that he wouldn't be a complete people repellent.

"Never have I ever joined a social game looking like I was doing it under pains of torture." She flashed a gentle smile at him, her tone trying to be scolding, though amusement edged in.
