WHERE: Ride back from EDL and in Skyhold
NOTES: Anders.

She has it. It's such a little thing to be happy about but he is nonetheless. This is something that will last and linger despite everything else, and it's a positive thing.

He's pulled from those thoughts by her questions, though, and Anders takes her hands in his and holds them tight.

"I will do everything I can to do so, yes." He won't be going to the Maker's side, if anyone ever is, anymore. He'll be pulled into the Void and lost, but Justice at least can still exist, can find Hope and be there for them both. It is a worthy cause, to protect a young mage. "I'll watch over you, Kalli. And if you ever have children, I'll watch over them too."

"Thank you," she says, and squeezes back. She doesn't want to let go. She's afraid she'll start crying if she does.

"...so... anything else you want for your last few hours free?"

"I've always wanted to ride on the back of a tiger." He gives her a small, tight smile before shaking his head.

"It's all right, Kalli. What I've done carries a price, and considering the fact that you may never have to fear the Circles for the rest of your life, it's an acceptable one." So many have a chance. They just need to seize it. "Stay free. That's all I ask. Take this life and hold it tight and never let them take your liberty away. You deserve it, and a chance at happiness, no matter what people say of mages. No matter what they think, or what they do."
